California’s legal weed

California has become the ninth and largest in the US to legalise marijuana for recreational use. The new law comes 20 years after the state first allowed the use of the drug for medicinal purposes. For cannabis advocates, the decision is an important step forward in alleviating the stigma around the drug. But critics are concerned it'll lead to huge public health and safety costs.
