Day symbolises unity and solidarity amongst African nations

The Organisation of African Unity was founded on this day 59 years ago - the 25th of May 1963. It's now celebrated every year as Africa Day, to serve as a reminder of the unity and solidarity among the continent's 54 nations. Dominic Brian Omondi visited the celebrations here in Istanbul and sent us this report.
