Worksafe,New Zealand’s primary regulator for workplace related incidents, will charge 10 parties under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Police believe one of the missing bodies was sighted in the water close to the island by rescue teams on Tuesday, the day after the eruption. The location of the other body is not known.
Eight people believed to be still on the White Island are presumed dead, buried under ash and debris from Monday's eruption. Eight people were confirmed killed and dozens were severely burned in the blast of steam and ash.
