Republicans criticised the $1.9 trillion package as more expensive than necessary and complain it inflates the national debt and sends money to projects not directly tied to the pandemic.
Health fears, uncertainty, and, a second wave of coronavirus cases have meant few movie producers braving a return so far in Hollywood, with some heading elsewhere or even overseas.
Meanwhile, US Vice President Mike Pence said that 16 states are seeing an increase in infections and that the federal government is focused on rising cases in the South.
