US President Donald Trump's imposition of tariffs on imported goods, including steel and alluminium, has started to show signs of being counterproductive, as it is putting more US jobs at risk than it is saving.
The EU is to slap tariffs on $3.4 billion in American products, from whiskey and motorcycles to peanuts and cranberries. India and Turkey have already targeted US products, ranging from rice to cars to sunscreen.
The gathering comes after US President Donald Trump threatened to impose huge tariffs on China on billions of dollars worth of goods.
Beijing says it will pay "any cost" to protect China's trade. Even some Republicans are aghast at the US president's latest and somewhat unclear threat with one senator saying "this is nuts."
