A parliament report has said while it would be "difficult" to prove that Russia sought to influence the EU referendum, it was clear Britain "was slow to recognise the existence of the threat" despite past evidence of Russia interfering in 2014.
Facebook said almost 200 fake and compromised accounts were used to reach at least one million followers in the eight African countries and that all the networks were connected to "entities associated with Russian financier Yevgeniy Prigozhin."
