A team of Nepali climbers that made the first winter summit of K2, the world’s second tallest peak, arrived back in the country to a heroes' welcome from crowds of well-wishers.
Wearing traditional woollen hats and festooned with garlands, the climbers were received as heroes on the first leg of their journey back home.
Nirmal Purja, 36, climbed eight mountains in Nepal, five in Pakistan and one in Tibet in just over six months.
