Gazprom said Naftogaz of Ukraine has confirmed receipt of $2.918 billion in compensation from Gazprom in compliance with the 2018 Stockholm Arbitration's award.
The meeting will focus on Gazprom's plan to construct and put into operation by the end of next year the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which would bring gas to Germany via the Baltic Sea, bypassing Ukraine.
Russia's Gazprom is seeking to cancel a 2009 gas transit contract with Ukraine and is refusing to pay Naftogaz more than $2.5 billion under a Stockholm arbitration ruling.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said that the country had "enough gas in storage facilities, its own gas and imports " after Russia's Gazprom said it would not restart gas supplies to Ukraine.
