Samir Geagea, who heads the right-wing Lebanese Forces party, said late Saturday he no longer believes the current national unity government headed by Premier Saad Hariri can steer the country out of a deepening economic crisis.

US diplomat Frederic Hof had previously proposed a maritime demarcation line that would give Lebanon around two-thirds and Israel around one-third of a disputed triangular area of sea of around 860 square kilometres.
In a statement, EU ambassadors said they reaffirmed "their strong support for the continued unity, stability, sovereignty and security of Lebanon and its people."
