Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said the US would not be able to delay Ankara in establishing a safe zone in northeastern Syria as a US delegation visits Turkey to discuss the implementation of a Joint Operations Center.
The Syrian regime is reported to be planning a full-scale military operation in the northwestern province of Idlib. It's the last remaining opposition and rebel stronghold in northern Syria and home to millions of displaced people.
In a statement, the Elbubanna tribe said "We as the biggest tribe in Manbij support the patrolling of Turkish troops, which will play a major role in ensuring stability and security."
Washington seems to have come to terms with Ankara on the removal of PKK's Syrian branch, the YPG, from Manbij by agreeing to patrols nearby. But it also cooperates closely with the terror group in the eastern parts of the Euphrates River.
If the Manbij model is successfully implemented, eastern Syria could eventually become a joint US-Turkish zone of influence.
The US-led coalition strikes came a day after the coalition opened a formal investigation to determine whether its air strikes last week near Manbij claimed more than 100 civilians including children.
