More than 50 people have been killed, 42 of them in different districts of Uttar Pradesh after lightning struck several states across the south Asian country.
One of the largest group of fires, dubbed the LNU Lightning Complex, has scorched nearly 89,000 hectares, burned nearly 500 structures and forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of people.
More than 70 people have been injured at Germany's Rock am Ring music festival following lightning strikes.
