Taliban says only civilians died in Helmand province raid but government officials say 16 fighters were also killed. Separately, Taliban attacked a Kabul-based security firm, killing 10 and wounding 19 others, "in response to air strikes."
The blast took place as spectators were leaving a wrestling match in southern Lashkargah city, wounding over 42 people. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
Afghan security sources say the attack possibly targeted a minibus in a crowded market in western Kabul.
Some 300 Marines will form part of NATO's train, assist and advise mission in the province where the Taliban control or contest 10 of the 14 districts.
