US security forces have weaponised riot gear in a violent effort to quell protests against police brutality, in the wake of George Floyd's death at the hands of a white policeman.
The demonstrator died after being hit by a tear gas canister on one of the main highways in east Baghdad, medics say.
The explosion killed at least 74 people and injured several others near the town of Rahim Yar Khan in the south of Punjab province.
Insists it is not taking sides in the nation's political turmoil, though it does back socialist President Nicolas Maduro's controversial plan for a new congress. At least 57 people have been killed since the demonstrations started in April.
