China’s Commerce Ministry expects a favourable outcome from the next round of face-to-face trade talks with the US scheduled in September, as tensions between the world's two largest economies grow.
The leaders of the two countries agreed last weekend to relaunch trade talks that had stalled in May after the US accused China of reneging on its commitments.
China is strongly against other countries imposing unilateral sanctions on Chinese entities, a commerce ministry spokesman said, stressing the US should avoid further damaging bilateral trade relations.
