The ferry was enroute to Jolo town in Sulu province from the southern port city of Zamboanga when it caught fire midway off Basilan close to midnight killing at least 31 passengers.
At least 30 bodies have been recovered with some dozens still missing after a ferry capsized in the Buriganga river which runs through southwest Dhaka. Officials were unable to confirm the number of passengers on board at the time of the accident.
Most of the casualties on the ferry were women and children who could not swim in Tigris River near Mosul, officials say, adding search for missing is underway.
Bodies continued to float to the surface around the vessel, which initial estimates suggested had been carrying more than 300 people.
Officials say the search was called off after "intense" discussions with the families. The final toll for the June 18 incident was 21 survivors, three recovered and 164 people missing, presumed drowned.
Search for 192 missing passengers continues in Lake Toba two days after a wooden tourist boat sank in one of the world's deepest volcanic lakes in Sumatra. Four people have been confirmed dead so far.
Authorities had previously said at least 80 people were thought to be on board the ferry that sank in rough weather in Indonesia's Lake Toba. It is believed it may be much more.
The Philippines' coastguard said it had so far rescued 252 passengers and crew. Rescue officials had earlier said only 251 passengers and crew were on board, but confirmed the vessel had a 286-person capacity.
Salvage operators have started to raise the sunken ferry in an operation costing about $75 million. More than 300 people, most of them schoolchildren, died when the ferry sank in 2014.
Rescue teams are searching the Chindwin River for missing passengers. The overloaded ferry was carrying more than 250 passengers out of which more than 150 have been rescued.
