Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh passed through the Rafah crossing, along with dozens of other Palestinians. Gaza officials say that Egypt has quietly resumed operations at the Rafah crossing over the past week, this time working with Hamas.
A total of $90 million is to be distributed in six monthly installments of $15 million, according to Gaza authorities, primarily to cover salaries of officials working in the Israel-blockaded Palestinian enclave.

Hamas Chief Ismail Haniya recently called for a third intifada, following US recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
The call for elections was made in a joint statement at the end of two days of closed-door talks attended by representatives of 13 leading political parties.
The reconciliation deal reached between Hamas-Fatah earlier during the week includes handing over of Rafah crossing to the unity government and has given thousands of people living in the Gaza Strip hopes of better times ahead.
After several failed reconciliation attempts, Palestinian rivals Hamas and Fatah have agreed to form a power-sharing unity government in Gaza and the West Bank, with Egypt’s mediation.
The Palestinian Authority prime minister is leading a delegation to Gaza, where they are meeting Hamas leaders in a bid to heal the rift between the rival factions. Hamas seized control of Gaza from the PA in 2007.
