Turkish tourist Ebru Ozkan has been charged with helping to smuggle money and packages to Palestinian group Hamas, in a case that has angered Ankara.
One of the charges Ebru Ozkan faces is for smuggling five bottles of perfume, which her lawyer ridiculed as trivial, saying she should be released.
Ebru Ozkan was arrested on Monday at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv while heading back to Turkey after having visited the city as part of a large tour group.
Ebru Ozkan was detained at the Ben Gurion airport on her way back to Istanbul, witnesses and local media say. She hasn't been heard from since her detention in Tel Aviv on Monday evening.
