Japan international Kamada scored from a Bas Dost layoff to throw his team a crucial Bundesliga lifeline after they had gone six games without a win, including five defeats.
Around 50 supporters with covered faces interrupted practice at Sporting's training centre in Alcochete, 20 kilometres south of Lisbon, and assaulted players. Dutch striker Bas Dost sustained injuries to the head.
