North Korea fired two unidentified projectiles into the sea, said South Korea, in the latest launch that came shortly after US President Donald Trump said he had received a "very beautiful letter" from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
The latest missile test is yet another act of defiance by the reclusive state in the face of intense pressure from the US and Pyongang's main ally, China.
The missile tests prompted S Korea's leader to call for the quick deployment of a controversial US anti-missile system known as THAAD. The US condemned the DPRK tests.
