Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas in his address at the first Arab League summit since the United Arab Emirates normalised ties with the Jewish state in 2020, urges Arab leaders to boost support in the face of "crimes" by Israel.
Since the last Arab League summit in 2019, several members of the 22-member bloc – for decades a forum for strident declarations of support for the Palestinian cause – have normalised ties with Israel.
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrives in Egypt for talks with Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah el Sisi, as media reports the two leaders will also attend a summit with counterparts from Jordan, Bahrain and Iraq.
Iran's statement comes a day after US President Joe Biden ended his tour to the Middle East, during which he visited Saudi Arabia and Israel.

Jordanian King Abdullah II said at the 28th summit of the Arab League that there will be no peace or stability in the Middle East without reaching a comprehensive solution to the Palestine-Israel conflict.
