A majority of the 193 million population has access only to severely polluted water. Every year over 50,000 children die of diarrhoea.
Years of mismanagement and pollution have left Pakistan the third most water-stressed country in the world.
More than two-thirds of households drink contaminated water and, as a result, every year 53,000 children die of diarrhoea.
For most Pakistanis, just being able to turn on the tap and get clean water is a luxury they can only dream about.
